Power budget

The question: will each power supply cover the modules it feeds? The sums are computed over the knowledge graph, using where each module is mounted and which supply feeds it.

Power draw against capacity, per supply and railBehringer CP1A power supply feeds 15 modules: +12V 795 of 1000 mA (80%), +5V 0 of 500 mA (0%), -12V 349 of 1000 mA (35%); Cre8audio NiftyCASE feeds 10 modules: +12V 304 of 1500 mA (20%), +5V 49 of 500 mA (10%), -12V 174 of 500 mA (35%)+12V railBehringer CP1A power supply: draw795 mA (lower bound)capacity (rated)1000 mA (load 80%)Cre8audio NiftyCASE: draw304 mAcapacity (peak)1500 mA (load 20%)-12V railBehringer CP1A power supply: draw349 mA (lower bound)capacity (rated)1000 mA (load 35%)Cre8audio NiftyCASE: draw174 mAcapacity (peak)500 mA (load 35%)+5V railBehringer CP1A power supply: draw0 mA (lower bound)capacity (rated)500 mA (load 0%)Cre8audio NiftyCASE: draw49 mAcapacity (peak)500 mA (load 10%)draw of the modules this supply feedscapacity covers the drawdraw exceeds capacity

Bars are milliamps. The +5V total is a lower bound because some modules do not state a +5V figure.

How to read it

  • Draw is the sum of published figures for the modules that supply feeds, not for the whole rack.
  • Placement (which case, which supply) is recorded by the owner and validated: modules must fit their case's rows.
  • Case figures are labelled peak by the maker; continuous capacity may be lower.

Caveats

  • A paper budget from published figures, not a measurement.
  • Most figures are single-source (see how well each spec is supported).
  • It assumes every in-use module is running at once.
  • The owner sourced the module draw values from the manufacturers and attests them; that is recorded separately and does not change how many sources agreed. Zero-draw figures for passive modules are inferred, not sourced.

The full per-module table is on the power budget page.
